About
Derek spent six years selling commercial gym equipment to CrossFit affiliates, hotels, and corporate fitness centers throughout the Midwest. He's seen firsthand which brands hold up to daily abuse and which ones break within a year.
He competes in NSF Strongman in the 231-lb open class, with a 700 lb deadlift, 250 lb log press, and a sub-30-second yoke walk over 60 feet. His own home gym in rural Indiana takes up a 600 square foot dedicated outbuilding and includes equipment from over 20 different brands.
Derek has been building, breaking, and replacing home gym equipment since 2017. His unique sales background gives him insight into which budget brands are actually rebranded commercial gear vs. cheap knockoffs.
